Low moisture by necessity

You cannot soak a mattress. Foam and pillowtop cores hold water, and a mattress that stays damp grows mold inside where you cannot see it. We use a low-moisture process with high vacuum so the surface dries in two to three hours with a fan on it.

What it addresses

Dust mite allergen, body oil, sweat staining, and light urine on children's mattresses. It does not address bed bugs — that is a licensed pest control job and cleaning will not solve it. If we see evidence, we stop and tell you.

Best done as a pair

Cleaning a mattress and then putting the same unwashed pillows and mattress pad back on it undoes most of the benefit. Wash the bedding hot the same day.

What mattress cleaning costs

Mattresses are priced by size — twin, full, queen, king — with a discount when several are done in the same visit, which is how most families book it. Cleaning both sides of a flippable mattress costs more than a single side, and heavy urine treatment on a child's mattress is quoted separately because it needs a different process and longer dwell time. Because the visit is short, mattress cleaning is nearly always booked alongside carpet or upholstery work rather than as a standalone call.

Dust mites, allergies and asthma

Dust mites do not bite and they are not a hygiene failure — they live in every home, feeding on shed skin, and they concentrate where people sleep. The allergen is not the mite but a protein in its waste, which becomes airborne when the bed is disturbed and settles again over several minutes. For someone with dust mite allergy or asthma, reducing that load at the source has a noticeable effect on morning symptoms. Cleaning helps most when it is paired with hot washing of bedding weekly, allergen-barrier encasements on the mattress and pillows, and keeping bedroom humidity moderate, since mites need ambient moisture to survive.

Children's mattresses and bedwetting

This is the most common reason we are called for mattress work. Fresh accidents respond well; repeated accidents over months produce staining that has oxidized into the ticking and often will not fully lift even when the odor does. Treating a child's mattress uses the same enzyme chemistry as pet work, applied at a controlled moisture level so the foam core does not stay wet. Waterproof encasements are worth the modest cost — they make future accidents a laundry problem rather than a mattress problem.
